Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ. It is my sincere prayer that your faith, which is of more value than life, is growing in strength and grounded in truth. I am writing to you today in an effort to encourage you to withstand the temptation to conform to the philosophies and logic of this World. As you can clearly see, this World has grown undeniably opposed to all that is righteous, just, and good. Even the most optimistic and naive Believer has to acknowledge that God and all who truly believe are methodically being minimized and ostracized by what the World calls political correctness or modernization. Now this should come as no surprise to anyone that has been spiritually enlightened by God’s Word of wisdom and knowledge. These things must come to pass; scripture speaks of man’s increasing Godlessness and outright denial of God’s righteousness. Jesus Christ Himself says in John 15:18-19; If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. Again in Matthew 10:22, Jesus says; “You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved”. It is fair to say that it has never been easy for anyone who has truly accepted the honor and privilege of being deemed a Child of God, and it began with Jesus Christ; the standard of our faith. All of this being true and not a lie, I ask you this, how is it that “Christians” manage to avoid the same persecution and strife that is destined for everyone who bears their Cross and follows Christ Jesus? This is validated in 1 Peter 4:12 where it says; Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. Again in Luke 6:22, it says: Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. It is painfully clear that being cast aside and mistreated is an unavoidable and necessary part of the Christian walk. Not only that, but we should embrace it for it is a sure confirmation that you are walking by faith. Are you ready for my next question? Probably not, but that has never stopped me before, so here it is; How is it that “Christians” participate in the same holidays, rituals, celebrations, and traditions as Worldly people, who hate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and create strife and trouble for anyone who believes? I’m more than sure that I just lost a lot of people who were reading this Post up until this point. I realize that this is not a comfortable topic and that it may seem hard embrace, especially if you try to understand with your mortal mind, or flesh. But I know that deep down in your soul something was affected. Maybe it hit you like a fresh breeze on a hot day, or maybe it felt like a punch in the stomach. Either way, I pray that you understand that Christianity, particularly God’s commands, are not meant to make you feel good about your station in this World. On the contrary, Christianity is the vehicle, or the way, by which we have access to God and the Holy Spirit to meet our goal of Salvation. This World is a hostile territory for the Christian, which means that it would be impossible for us to safely share in their rituals, traditions, holidays, ceremonies without consequence. Nonetheless, we see it all the more. Christians and those that disobey the Lord singing “Kum Ba Yah” and sharing a moment of “peace on earth”. Could it be that the war is over and God has waved the white flag of surrender? Or maybe we have managed to do what Jesus Christ was unable to accomplish and all men have indeed submitted to, and accepted, the gift of grace? Or could it be that many claim the name of Christ Jesus recklessly, and proclaim righteousness according to their own standards, forsaking any form of self sacrifice or suffering?
My point is this; we must stop being fans of the faith. We must stop being weekend Christian warriors. We must stop being adulterous and unfaithful to God. It is time for us to grow up in our faith and embrace the full responsibility that comes with being Children of God. Lip service isn’t enough and neither is empty worship, or religiosity. Sacrifice is required. Remember that God so loved you that He sacrificed His only Son. Is it really asking too much that you might be required to sacrifice some people, places, and things of this World?
I humbly pray that this God inspired message lands on fertile hearts and souls.
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. Matthew 16:25
