As many prepare for what is referred to as the holiday season, Christians and non-believers alike get caught up in the man made hysteria scheduled joy. Both Believers and non-believers spend more money than they have, while claiming peace on earth. As if God Himself somehow gets caught up in the idolatrous nonsense with them. We honor dead, uprooted trees, flying reindeer, and a little fat guy who squeezes down chimneys to give gifts to all. That is of course unless you live in an apartment or low income housing projects that don’t typically have chimneys. There is a feeling of euphoria, even if only for a little while. Goodwill toward all mankind, and the world seems like a great place to be. But as soon as the eggnog is gone, the needles from the tree are cleaned up, the clock has struck midnight and a new year begins it is back to business as usual. Christians playing holier that thou; pointing the crooked finger of self righteousness. Non-believers deny our Sovereign God, and call Christians hypocrites. Yes, truly it Tis the season!
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34
Glory to God in the highest Heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:24
