It is truly a blessing to be deemed worthy to serve the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and build up a body of Believers worthy of God. It is my hope that you may truly know God, and be be known by God (Galatians 4:9, 1 Cor.8:3). It is my duty to make known the mystery of God, which is revealed only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is all the more imperative, in these increasingly evil times, that we hold firmly to our faith. We can no longer naively expect that the very world that crucified our Lord Jesus Christ, is going to respect our faith and accept the message that brings conviction to their darkened hearts. We are children of God, and we know that the only way to please God, and be saved from His wrath is by faith (Hebrews 11:6). We are obligated to obey and share God’s Truth with all men, that they might repent and be saved. Now is hardly the time for us to shrink back and compromise with the godless, worldly philosophies and empty religious routines that trivialize the power of the Word of God (Romans 12:2). We cannot be at peace with a world that hates God, and refuses to acknowledge His authority (James 4:4, 1 John 2:15). We are ambassadors of Heaven and our unrelenting faith, even in the face of extreme troubles, is a testimony to the hope and confidence we have in God’s promises (2 Corinthians 5:20, 2 Corinthians 1:20, Deuteronomy 31:6-8).
It is a fact that we will be subject to unfair, unjust and undue troubles because of our faith, but we must stand firm so that we can receive the goal of our faith; the salvation of our souls (1 Peter 1:9, James 1:2-4, John 16:33). We must remain ever mindful of the life of Christ Jesus, and the example He gave us of how to serve God, not ourselves (1 Peter 2:21).
We cannot settle with being a secret society of “Believers” or weekend worshipers who only “worship” God on weekends or holidays. We must come out of the confines of religion and seek an intimate and fruitful relationship with our Creator, that can only be attained through the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-17). We are the Church of the living God, and He will use the faithful to shepherd the lost, and oppressed back to Him (1 Corinthians 3:9, 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19). Playing holy in the safe confines of a building that is built by man cannot yield the promised Holy Spirit that makes us God’s children. We are supposed to be lights in this dark world, and it is our duty to shine the light of hope in the darkness (Philippians 2:15). Jesus said the world would hate us as it hated Him, therefore we should not be surprised at the fiery trials that come our way (John 15:18, 1 Peter 4:12). 2 Timothy 3:12 says; “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted”. Acts 14:22 says; “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God”.
We are soldiers in the army of the Lord, and we must be well prepared and fully equipped to defend against the attacks of evil and be delivered in the victory that we have in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2:3-4). The Kingdom of Heaven is not a matter of talk, but of power and power creates action and changes circumstances. Remember: Faith without action is dead (James 2:26) and we serve a God that is alive and mighty. It is true that “many are called and the chosen are few”, and those that are chosen have been Called To Action!
To live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).
Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:10-17.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For, “In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10:36-39
